Adding files to My Documents

Magistrates receive various Judicial updates, corrections and guidance from the Sentencing Council or their Justices’ Clerk most of which arrive in electronic format either Microsoft Office Word or Adobe PDF format. We want to add these into our Sentencing Guidelines App either as a general reference of useful resources or specifically in support of specific types of offence. You can add most types of document into the App including scanned documents or pictures, Microsoft Office Word and Excel or Adobe PDF documents.

Adjournment dates and short disqualification on iPad

The Refs (or References) popup provides quick access to frequently needed resources. Adjournment or disqualification dates The Adjournment calc reference provides a table of dates in weeks from today’s date. This allows the Court to set an adjournment date a number of weeks from today’s date and to quickly confirm this date. The table provides a readout of weeks, date and number of days from today. The links Totting up disqualification, Speeding guideline and Penalty notices will open the respective offence guidelines.

The Annual Subscription provides on-going access to Tools and Judicial updates for the App. These notes explain how to obtain a subscription. The Drink drive dates calculator tool provides for the definitive calculation of reduced disqualification dates for successful completion of the drink drive rehabilitation course. Drink driver rehabilitation course The Magistrates’ Court Sentencing Guidelines describes the maximum reduction in driver disqualification period available for the successful completion of an approved drink driver rehabilitation course. The Speeding MPH grid tool is located under the ellipsis (three-dot) extended menu at the top-right of the menu. Tap the elipsis button and tap MPH. Excess alcohol drive/attempt drive and In charge These Excess alcohol offences are charged with the unit amount of alcohol measurement in breath, blood or urine detailed within the description of the offence. Check which offence is charged and select the appropriate band from the uppper (drive/attempt drive) or lower (in charge) grid.

Export and import Favourites and Flagged

Managing and saving your Favourites and Flagged items Once you’ve created a useful list of Favourites, you can export these to a File that is stored within the Sentencing Guidelines App. Open a Favourites pop-up, tap the Export button at the top-left, then enter a description for the Favourites export file. Then tap Export. The dialogue box will confirm the export of the Favourites and the location of that file.
